Lowest Minimum

Classify different asset classes by the size of their minimums in this comparison article.

Introduction

In this comparison table, we classify some of the best apps on the market by their minimum investment amounts. We’ve covered a breadth of asset classes, so you can easily compare minimum amounts from right across the market. We’ve also listed some of the key features of each provider in the table, and what assets they cover below.

What is a minimum?

A minimum is the lowest amount of money an investor can add to their account, in order to trade with. In the UK, this generally ranges anywhere between £1-£50, but can even be as high as £500 or more with certain providers of certain accounts. Having a minimum deposit is fairly standard, and this can vary across providers based on geographic regions and the asset type.

Generally, the lower the minimum, the lower the barrier entry for the everyday investor. Access to asset types is one of the biggest areas of growth in the investment space, with access improving across asset classes through lower minimums, and fractional (splitting up) of investments between pools of retail investors.

Minimums and rewards

Remember, some providers may have low minimums, but with higher deposit amounts required to achieve certain welcome rewards, cashback or incentives. Make sure you check out all the terms and conditions associated with any offers.

How do I deposit funds?

Each provider has different methods to enable fund depositing into investment accounts. These generally include bank transfers, credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Make sure to check how long each deposit method takes to arrive in your investment account and any fees associated with a particular one.
